Prothonotary Implements New Electronic Filing System
May 09, 2024
The Northampton County Court Services announces that the Prothonotary has launched a new electronic filing (e-file) system designed to streamline document processing and enhance accessibility for attorneys.
The new e-filing system provides a secure method to submit and manage documents related to Civil cases. Filings that currently may not be electronically filed are: Custody Actions, Protection From Abuse Actions, District Magisterial Appeals, License Suspension Appeals, Petitions for Name Change, and Writ of Executions (Real Estate/ Money Judgment).
While the adoption of electronic filing is not mandatory, the Prothonotary encourages the use of the online tool to expedite case proceedings and enhance overall productivity. The online electronic filing system is available 24/7. Filings may be submitted at any time; however, they will only be reviewed and/or processed during standard business hours. For law firms working with deadlines, it's recommended to allow sufficient time for processing.
